Dr. Lawrence T. Kacmar M.D., F.A.A.F.P.
Dr. Kacmar is a board certified Family Physician who is Fellowship trained and board certified in Sports Medicine. He specializes in treating all primary care issues, simple or complex. His practice includes treatment of pediatric, internal medicine and gynecologic patients. He sub-specializes in the treatment of complex sports and musculoskeletal injuries. He routinely treats all musculoskeletal related injuries. Dr. Kacmar has been in private practice for 10 years in the Naperville/Aurora area.
Dr. Kacmar began his medical training at Wabash College in Indiana. He played four years of NCAA collegiate Football. He was captain of the football team and an Academic All-American. He then attended Indiana University School of Medicine where he developed his interest in Primary Care Sports Medicine. He attended his Family Medicine residency at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois and then went to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois for his Sports Medicine fellowship training. During this period, he trained at prestigious institutions, including University of Chicago, Children’s Memorial Hospital of Chicago, University of Illinois Chicago, and the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.
After completion of his training, he remained at Lutheran General where he instructed in the Family Medicine residency and Sports Medicine fellowship. He worked in a private Family Medicine office and Sports Medicine clinic. He was also the Medical Director of Physical Therapy and Outpatient Rehab services.
Currently, he remains busy as the Medical Director for the Center of Primary Care and Sports Medicine. He sees and treats all aspects of Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. He also holds a teaching affiliation with Loyola University Chicago, Strict School of Medicine and Aurora University. He is the team Physician for all collegiate athletes at Aurora University. He provides medical coverage for professional, Collegiate, High School, Club and Team Athletes. He is actively involved with educating Coaches, Athletic Trainers and Physical Therapists and is also involved with Community events. He also coaches and instructs in local soccer leagues.
Dr. Kacmar has written and published several papers and has lectured at several seminars. He believes strongly in preventative medicine both in Primary Care and Sports Medicine. He works with a strong team of other specialists to provide a full team approach when treating patients.
